Hello kids!
Today I’ll be ranting about the GazettE’s Official Fanclub and the GazettE’s fandom in general. Please note that any kind of hate comment will not bother me the least so you might as well save the time. I want to clear a few things up first.
1. I used to be a more devoted fan (meaning being active), but with time, I’m just enjoying the music and having fun with their pictures. Oh, and yes, I have Heresy Only pictures on this blog because they’re all over the interwebs.
2. I don’t care if you hate me or not or if I’ll have 80% of the fandom on my back, trying to kill me with an axe the second time. I also do not cry over lost Tumblr followers so yeah, sorry. :/
3. FREEDOM OF SPEECH! This is strictly my opinion and I couldn’t care less of how butthurt you might end up after this.
Okay so we have Heresy(before it became Japan only) and we have the GazettE fandom - around 60% of them are narrow-minded, immature people. I’m not saying they’re not fans, I’m just saying how I see them as people.
There’s a good 40% of fans with a higher maturity level that understand a few things that do not necessarily apply only to the GazettE.
Immature fans that act like the GazettE are GODS need to grow up. The bad thing is not that they think of them as Gods, no, that’s their own problem, but there are some who bitch at other fans for not having the same attitude as them which is kind of like… Whaaaat?!
For me, they’re talented musicians, they’re inspirational, they’re good artists, but I would not take that to the level where I consider them superior creatures.
Oh, yes, they are only people. Please, don’t have a heart-attack.
The thing is, fans of the GazettE are wayyyy to different. There are people who bitch at you for leaking, but are friends with leakers / there are people who get too damn defensive when anyone expresses their opinion openly / there are people who think they NEED to like everything about the GazettE in order to be a fan / there are people who bitch at you for not worshiping them. Okay so this is the bad part, but I did mention there are more mature fans.
I mean, you know, as a fan, you like what those guys are doing, you like their music, you get what they’re about. If you afford it, you support them by buying a CD or an album now and then, but if you don’t afford it and someone bitches at you for that, bitchslap them and tell them that not everybody affords them and that it doesn’t matter ‘cause that’s not the main point in being a fan. Yes, people, there are persons who barely get to pay their monthly bills so stop being such tards.
When you reach a higher level of maturity as a fan, you don’t get as worked up about little things as you used to. If someone say like ‘the GazettE sucks’, you don’t go all OMFG YOU SON OF A BITCH! I WILL REACH DOWN YOUR THROAT AND RIP YOUR LUNGS OUT!, instead you might want ask them what are the reasons for which the GazettE sucks and if they don’t have an answer, might as well ask them what on earth are they doing on a site/whatever related to the band. Most of them are haters, they’re everywhere so you won’t ever get to get rid of them, you might as well ignore them.
Okay so the thing is - Heresy - turns a lot of easily influenced and manipulated people into these goddamn annoying elitists that no one likes. Well, no one in their right mind. Why in the world would you think of yourself as high and almighty just because you may have more money than other to afford it or you just feel superior for getting to see what everyone will end up seeing eventually? And go and bitch at “unofficial” fans, telling them their not “real” or “true” fans. Excuse me? Who gives you the right to define who is or isn’t a fan? Or what kind of fan they are? Sorry to burst your pink bubble, but no, no one gives you that right.
No, I’m not saying is right to leak what some pay for to see, but in the same time there’s a trick here, guys. There’s a little story that may have two sides. Either PSC or the GazettE themselves came one day with the not so brilliant idea(for the fans at least) to have a fanclub for which people have to pay a lot of money to see personal blogs, pictures, to get some fanclub only merch and maybe priority to some tickets. It is a bad, yet brilliant idea for PSC. They give you this, you pay tons of money for them, you might turn into some elitist and yell at everybody for leaking pictures. You might also wake up years later thinking how many other things you could have done with the money.
Then again, pictures are pictures. People will still pay to get in Heresy ‘cause most of them know that peeking isn’t the same with the real thing. Maybe there won’t be as many, but HELLO PSC, you ask money for that? Isn’t that also like dividing fans? Isn’t that a bit discriminatory? Think about it. The thing shouldn’t be there in the first place. It creates drama, yet it brings them money. Fans would be happier without it.
Personally, I don’t bother that much with this. Why? Because like I said, I find it unfair, but I wouldn’t join it anyway so yeah. I have college fees and I ain’t some rich chick. And besides I don’t see a point if those “great, great” fans as they name themselves, bring everything to the table. I know it’s supporting the band, but there were times when supporting a band meant buying their music not paying tons of money for personal blogs and pictures. (I keep repeating that because most of them joined for that.)
And seriously, I don’t know much about this, but how many bands, more or less famous than the GazettE (outside Asia ‘cause this is a trend there), have fanclubs that ask for so much money? List me 5 to 10 bands and I’ll agree that I’ve been wrong with this fact. If there are, I bet they’re rare and give a lot more.
AND THEN ~ There comes PSC Global which is even a greater idea for this company to suck dough out of you.
A lot of people pay for all the PSC bands when they’re only interested in max. 2. Why would you do that? Jesus, why? Can’t you be like a fan without throwing so much money outside the window for PSC to bathe in them?
